Prepare your trip during peak travel periods

Airports are particularly busy during the June 15 to September 15 period. Follow our tips to save time during peak travel periods!
Click on the icons below to learn more about each step of your trip.

Prepare your boarding pass and your baggage tags

To save time, collect your boarding pass and print your baggage tags with barcodes* when checking in online.

How?
Starting 30 hours before your flight’s departure: on our website, on your mobile phone or on the Air France app.

* You can also print your baggage tags using an interactive kiosk at the airport.

Prepare your baggage

You must attach a baggage tag with a barcode to each checked baggage item and leave it at the baggage drop-off area. We also recommend that you write your name and phone number inside your baggage. The number of baggage items you are permitted to check and the weight limit depends on your travel cabin and ticket.

Would you like to transport additional baggage?
Purchase an Additional Baggage Option online and get at least 20% off the airport price on the day of departure.

Save time by dropping off your baggage the day before your trip!

You can drop off your baggage at the Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport on the day before your trip. And on your departure day, you can proceed directly to the boarding area and take your flight without stopping at the baggage drop-off area!

You can drop off your baggage every day from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM at Terminal 2F, Departures level, Check-in Area 3.

This service is available only on the day before your departure, starting from 30 hours before your flight's departure, for all destinations except the United States and Israel.

Arrive early at the airport

During peak travel periods, we recommend that you arrive at the airport:
  • 1.5 hours before departure for flights within metropolitan France,
  • 2 hours before departures for flights within Europe, North Africa and Israel,
  • 3 hours before departure for intercontinental flights.

Proceed through security

Remember to allow plenty of time, as long lines can form at security checkpoints. Discover Parafe to skip the lines!

  • 15 min before departure for flights within metropolitan France,
  • 20 min before departure for flights within Europe, North Africa and Israel,
  • 20 min before departure for long-haul flights,
